The College of Business and Economics of
Radford University is fully accredited by
the
Association to
Advance Collegiate Schools of Business
(AACSB).
The AACSB International is recognized by the
Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and
by the Office of Postsecondary
Accreditation, U.S. Department of Education,
as the sole accrediting agency for
baccalaureate and masters degree programs in
business administration and accounting.
As of June
2007, less than one third of U.S.
business schools, and fewer than 15%
worldwide, have achieved business
and/or accounting accreditation from AACSB.
The Faculty
The department is home to
eleven full-time
faculty members.
Eight faculty members are full time
professional teaching faculty and three are
administrative faculty. Nine faculty
members hold the doctoral degree, and two
are ABD with doctoral degrees expected by
Fall 2008. All of our faculty are
outstanding teachers who have a primary
focus on student learning and engagement.
In addition to being outstanding teachers
the faculty are also very active in
professional development and research
activities. Over the past five years
the full time professional teaching
faculty, as a group, have produced a total
of 59 intellectual contributions, including
refereed journal articles, conference
proceedings and other non-refereed
publications. There are currently (as of
July 2006) 5 additional refereed journal
articles accepted for publication and 3 more
under editorial review .
The faculty hold degrees from
universities including; Baruch
College: CUNY, Georgia State
University, Mississippi State University,
Old Dominion University, University of
Alabama, University of Arkansas, University
of Houston, University of Illinois at
Chicago, University of Maryland,
University of Nebraska, and Virginia Tech.
Majors & Graduates
During the Fall 2005
semester the there were 146 declared
marketing majors in the College of Business
and Economics and 120 pre-marketing majors.
Pre-marketing is a designation used to
describe those students who have not yet
completed our
pre-business
program
(primarily freshmen and sophomore students
still completing general education
requirements), but have declared an intent
to major in marketing.
During the 2005-06
academic year the marketing program
graduated 113 students. Over the past four
years the number of marketing graduates has
ranged from 105 (2002-03) to 128 (2004-05).
